3. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
3.1 By using the Website and/or making an Order, You accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
3.2 Bookblock may at any time modify these Terms and Conditions. We will notify You of any changes to these Terms and Conditions either by emailing You (at the email address entered by You into the registration form on the Website) and/or by posting a notice on the Website. By continuing to use the Website and/or making any Order after changes to these Terms and Conditions are made and notified to You, You agree to be bound by such changes.
3.3 You can review the most current version of our Terms and Conditions at any time by clicking on the ‘Terms and Conditions’ link located at the bottom of the Website. It is Your responsibility to ensure that You are familiar with the current Terms and Conditions. You are advised to check the above link on a regular basis.
4. What is the Website?
4.1 The Website is an electronic retail store which combines physical product sourced or manufactured by Bookblock with digital printed product commissioned or created in-house by Bookblock.
4.2 A customer can buy and send gifts and digitally printed products, separately or together.
5. How to make an order – Gift Boxes + Gifts
5.1 Users may browse the Website for free and may view products without any obligation to make an Order.
5.2 If You wish to purchase Goods shown, You may select it by clicking “Add to Basket” on the Listing for the relevant Goods. The default setting for quantity of Goods shown is generally (though not always) one item.
5.3 When You click the “Add to Basket” button on an item, the Goods shown will be transferred to Your Basket.
5.4 At this stage, you can choose the recipient of a ‘Gift Box’. Bookblock does not operate a regular Basket system. We allow the user to create multiple ‘Gift Boxes’ within the same Basket, which act as separate orders. Each ‘Gift Box’ can be filled with multiple products, including digitally printed products. The basket then acts as a ‘Master Order’ for all ‘Gift Boxes’ within the Basket, which will be consolidated onto one Invoice.
5.5 As each ‘Gift Box’ is treated as a separate order, different recipient details and packaging details must be provided for each one.
5.6 You can choose as many or as few ‘Gift Boxes’ as you wish.
5.7 With each gift box comes a choice in the style of packaging. You will be given the choice from several different design style options, however you will not be able to choose the size or shape of your packaging, as we will fit your items into the most appropriate box.
5.8 If you choose a design style based on a particular image you have seen on the website, we cannot guarantee that this is what you will receive. You will, however, receive packaging within the same family of design style options.
5.9 You can view Your Basket at any time by selecting the Basket icon at the top right hand side of every page of the Website.
5.10 By adding Goods to Your Basket, You have not entered into any binding commitment. At any time prior to payment, You can delete any item from Your Basket by selecting the ’remove’ button bellow the relevant Goods in Your Basket.
5.11 When You have finished selecting Goods, You may select the “Checkout” button at the bottom of Your Basket.
5.12 You will be asked to log in to Your Account, or if You have not yet set up an Account, You will be asked to register with the Website as a Guest or by creating an Account. Once You have logged into Your Account (or have registered an Account or as a Guest with the Website), You will be redirected to the web page of our secure payment provider. You will be asked to enter Your credit or debit card details and to click “submit”. Depending on Your card provider, You may be redirected to a card verification page in which You will be asked to enter certain letters or numbers of Your secret password. This card verification page is operated by Your card issuer.
5.13 Discount codes, vouchers and free credit may be restricted or terminated at any time without prior notice. Use of such discount codes, vouchers and free credit are limited to one per household unless otherwise stated.
5.14 Bookblock will not see or receive Your credit or debit card details or the letters or numbers of Your secret code (to the extent that You are required to enter these). These will be viewable only by the payment provider and/or Your card issuer (as applicable).
5.15 When Your payment has been processed, You will receive a confirmation email from Bookblock.
5.16 On completion of the payment process which shall occur at the later of submission by You of Your credit or debit card details and (to the extent applicable) submission of the relevant letters or numbers of Your secret password, an Order will to have been made.
5.17 The cancellation and refund policies set out below shall apply to such Order.
6. Creating a Digitally Printed Product (card) and applying it to a Gift Box, Sending Single and Multiple Cards
6.1 A card can be added to any ‘Gift Box’, either on its own or with multiple other cards and with other gift items.
6.2 A card sent by itself is technically still part of a ‘Gift Box’, however its packaging is that of an envelope.
6.3 A single card can be sent with an extra envelope to allow personalisation at home. This option can be chosen in the Basket.
6.4 Multiple cards can be ordered to a single address. These will always come with additional envelopes.
6.5 You cannot cancel or edit your Order of personalised products once the order has been placed and an order confirmation email received.
6.7 We are not responsible for customer generated mistakes, errors or defects including spelling, typographical or grammatical errors; poor image quality derived from low resolution images, order quantity, or other ordering errors, including delivery address. To prevent these errors from happening, please review your order carefully before proceeding to payment.
6.7 Content Rules – we do not permit personalised products to include any content or material which:
6.7.1 infringes anyone’s copyright: in particular, you must ensure that you either own the copyright in an image or any other content that you wish to include in a personalised product or that you are fully licensed by the copyright owner to include that image or other content in the personalised product;
6.7.2 infringes any other rights, such as a trade mark, of any person or entity or a duty owed to any person or entity, such as a duty of confidentiality;
6.7.3 contravenes any applicable law (including, without limitation, any criminal law) or regulation;

6.7.8 may harass, upset, embarrass or alarm any person;
6.7.9 gives the impression that it emanates from or has been approved by us;
6.7.10 advocates, promotes or assists any unlawful act.
7. Delivery
7.1 Delivery charges (if applicable) will be added at checkout, for each separate address that goods are being delivered to. More information can be found in our Delivery & Returns section.
7.2 If by accident the sender adds the wrong items to the wrong Gift Box, Bookblock will not be at fault and will consider the delivery final.
7.3 If by accident Bookblock include the wrong items within the wrong Gift Box, Bookblock will take full responsibility and pay for the return and replacement of said items.
7.4 Bookblock rely on third parties to provide delivery services. We are not responsible if estimated timelines are not met. If You do not receive a delivery in time, You may cancel Your Order in accordance with the cancellation policy detailed below.
7.5 If you order goods from our Website for delivery outside the UK, they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You or the recipient will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
7.6 More information on our delivery methods can be found in our Delivery & Returns section.
8. Returns
8.1 If for any reason You are unhappy with Your Order:
- (a) if the Goods were delivered to You, you must return them by post within 14 days of receiving them, for an exchange in the first instance, or full refund if a replacement cannot be made.
- (b) if the Goods were delivered to someone else, you must return them by post within 14 days of receiving them, for an exchange in the first instance, or full refund if a replacement cannot be made.
- (c) if Returns are made, the full Gift Box must be returned rather than individual items that comprise the Gift Box.
8.2 All items must be returned new, unused and with all tags and original packaging. Please note: Unless faulty, we are unable to accept returns of perishable items, earrings (for hygiene reasons), personal items sold with a hygiene seal where that seal has been broken, underwear, swimwear, products made to order, or any item that has been used or returned in an unsaleable condition. Returns that do not meet our policy will not be accepted and sent back to You or your Recipient.
8.3 We reserve the right to replace goods wherever possible, prior to offering refunds.
8.3 Refunds will only be credited to the original payment method used. The refund does not include any shipping or handling costs.
8.4 We strongly advise You to send all returned items by a secure signed for service. Any returned items must be insured for the full amount of the sum paid and signed for on delivery.
8.5 Bookblock will not be responsible for any lost or damaged Goods. Therefore, You are advised to retain the proof of postage certificate for any Goods returned.
8.6 Where You have had Goods delivered to a specified address and decide that You do not wish to keep Goods that You have ordered, postal costs for returned Goods will be Your responsibility. In the event that Goods posted to You are damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied, Bookblock will refund the postal costs incurred by You.
8.8 If You have opted to receive a refund Bookblock will credit the original purchaser’s credit/debit card for the sum paid within 3 business days of receipt of the returned Goods. Card refunds may take 5-8 business days to appear in Your account.
8.8 Orders which are used for commercial purposes and subsequently returned (e.g. for use as props for photography) are actively monitored. Bookblock reserve the right to refuse to serve customers suspected of undertaking this activity for future orders. If you require products for commercial purposes, please get in touch at press@Bookblock.com for more information.
9. Corporate Orders
9.1 Voucher Code Refund: Any unused voucher codes can be refunded after a 6 month period minus a 10% fee. Full refunds are available in exchange for credit.
9.2 Third-Party Items / Provided Items: It is possible to have your own items/those provided by third-parties included in gift boxes with prior permission. Items given to Bookblock are done so at your own risk; if any orders containing items provided by yourselves or a third party are lost and/or damaged we cannot be held responsible. Furthermore if items are damaged whilst in Bookblock’s care we will not be liable for their damage or replacement.
9.3 Non-Delivery and Returns: All items are sold ex-works. If items are returned to us due to non-delivery we will hold onto those items until your further instructions. If items are returned to us damaged we will do our best to rectify the damage, but cannot be liable for any replacement costs.
10. Payments
10.1 We currently accept all major debit and credit cards including VISA, MasterCard and AMEX. Our e-commerce platform is using Stripe for a trustworthy and secure check out process, making ordering your cards anywhere at any time a simple, safe and seamless experience.
10.2 If you create an account and enter your payment details, your card will be stored securely by Stripe so that you can check out on future visits without re-entering your card details.
We never store or have access to your credit or debit card details.
10.3 On occasion, Stripe will send the issuing bank a request for either a $0 or a $1 authorisation to verify that the card is issued, and the bank will allow it to be authorised. This is a security measure from Stripe, to ensure that your card is chargeable, and will have no effect upon the overall price you pay for any products you purchase from the Bookblock site or mobile applications. Regardless of whether or not the authorisation is declined, the authorisation request is reversed immediately. However, even if the bank declines the authorisation, some people may still see an authorisation for $1 on their credit card statement. The important thing to remember is that this is not a charge, and it will disappear from your statement; depending on the bank, it will be removed from your statement within a few weeks, if not sooner.
11. Unlimited
11.1 Unlimited is our subscription service, whereby for a fixed fee per month a customer can send Unlimited cards free of charge.
11.2 Although the card is free, there is a postage and packaging fee applied to each order. This stands at the prevalent First Class rate which is currently £0.85 for one card. There is an additional p&p of £0.40 for every additional card sent to the same address.
11.3 Unlimited is for personal use only. If Bookblock suspects the customer is using Unlimited for commercial purposes, or on behalf of a business, club, school or institution, Bookblock reserves the right to cancel an order, refund the p&p and in extreme cases cancel a subscription.
11.4 There is a limit to the number of multiples that can be ordered in one session which is subject to change. More orders can be made in subsequent sessions.
12. Your conduct
12.1 By downloading and/or using the Website, You agree not to upload, post, e-mail or otherwise send or transmit any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment associated with the Website.
